Accommodation information

• We have selected a variety of comfortable 5- to 3-star hotels in Tiruvannamalai, all within close proximity to the retreat venue.

• Rooms are booked on a first-come, first-served basis. Since rooms are distributed among several hotels, the system will display a SOLD OUT notice when a particular hotel has reached full capacity.

  • Room Descriptions and Rates
    Prices are based on the number of occupants, not the number of beds.
    • A Single Room usually includes one bed and is intended for single occupancy.
    • A Double Room includes two beds and is intended for two-person occupancy. Kindly note that each participant is responsible for finding a roommate. Please note that the roommate identified needs to book the “double room occupancy” as well, at the same time, to avoid overbooking. Refrain from booking in advance “double bed occupancy” without knowing who the roommate will be. In the absence of a roommate, the single-room rate will apply. Kindly let us know the name of both occupants.

    If a couple prefers to book a single room with one queen or king bed, please select and pay twice the double occupancy rate, once for each occupant, and at the same time. Kindly let us know the name of both occupants.

  • Meals during retreat days

  • Lunch and dinner will be provided daily at the retreat venue, beginning with the welcome dinner on January 5th and continuing through the farewell dinner on January 15th.

  • Transportation from Hotels to the Village of Light
    All hotels are located within a 10- to 20-minute bus ride from the retreat venue, and some are within walking distance. Please refer to the hotel list for directions and distances.
    We have arranged daily transportation in small vans to bring participants from each hotel to the Village of Light each morning, returning after dinner in the evening. The vans will also be available throughout the day. You may also arrange your own private transport (rickshaw or motorbike).

  • The accommodation fee covers 13 nights: check-in on January 4th and check-out on January 17th.

  • If you plan to stay in Tiruvannamalai before January 4th or beyond January 17th, we strongly recommend making your own arrangements as soon as possible, as this is a time of sacred celebration in TIru and hotels fill quickly. We can also suggest alternative accommodations if you wish to arrive earlier or extend your stay. Please contact the hotel you are staying during retreat for the extra nights you need to book. Please refer to the list of hotel contacts in the section of “Obtaining a travel visa for India” under TRAVEL AND LOGISTICS.

• All hotels rooms include private ensuite bathrooms.

• Breakfast and taxes are included in the accomodation fee.

• Any additional hotel services are to be paid directly to the hotel.

• If the Indian Rupee appreciates more than 5% against the US Dollar, prices in USD will be adjusted and participants will be notified.
